Marine Wildlife, Conservation and Research
SeaMôr is run by Hanna, who is a Marine Biologist and specializes in
marine mammals and she will tell you all about these animals as well
as help you identify the critters you see underwater. You can take a
short course in marine conservation, species identification or
underwater photography and help UK Marine Conservation by
participating in a SeaSearch underwater survey.

Sea Anemones at Target Rock

From New Quay we dive all along the Ceredigion
Heritage Coast and the Cardigan Bay Special Area of Conservation. We
regularly see crabs, lobsters, flat fish, pipefish, and a variety of
colourful sponges and anemones. If you are lucky a curious seal
might come to visit. Above the waves we see bottlenose dolphins,
harbour porpoises and a variety of seabirds. Experience this world
of seals and dolphins by diving into a school of mackerel and see
the sand eels take off from under the sand. If you are looking for a
new thrill, why not explore the sea caves and venture in at night to
see the sandy beaches come to life with crabs, conger eels,
cuttlefish or even an octopus!
Family Fun for All
Our boat trips cater for the whole family and non-divers are
welcome. Bring your partner and children along for an unforgettable
dive trip along the Heritage Coast. We can stop to admire the birds
nesting on the rocks and the amazing geological features of the
cliffs. There is always time to take photographs, hop in for a swim
and snorkel, have lunch by a deserted beach and learn about the
wildlife under the waves. We also carry a hydrophone onboard to
listen to the feeding dolphins and porpoises. And all this while you
enjoy your dive under the waves in Cardigan Bay.
Safety First
Our boat trips, courses and guided dives and snorkelling tours are
offered under guidance of a RYA Commercial Skipper, BSAC Advanced
Diver and PADI Instructor, who is also a marine biologist, wildlife
guide and underwater photographer. We dive in buddy pairs and chose
dive locations depending on divers’ experience and the sea
conditions. All divers must have a proof of qualifications and dive
with full equipment including a timer/computer and an SMB. If you
have not dived for a while, we recommend a refresher course prior to
diving. Please call in advance to check local weather and sea
conditions to avoid disappointment!
