Arriving on scene, the ALB requested the launch of New Quay ILB 'Amy Lea' to get closer to the cliffs and recover the dog. With coastguards having located the owners on the beach, the ILB was able to take one of them close to the cliff where the dog was successfully taken on board and both landed safely back at Llangrannog. A small piece of history can be recorded from this service with the station's last 2 maroons being used to call the lifeboat crew.
